The old adages "a picture's worth a thousand words" and "every picture tells a story" are often quoted for good reason - a single image can trigger a multitude of thoughts and emotions.
I've already written about the positive effects of surrounding yourself with photographs of loved ones in this post and with images of other kinds in this post.
Today's self-care exercise is to create a mood-board or collage. To be most effective it's probably a good idea to choose a specific goal to focus on and then search books, magazines, photographs, the internet, etc for images that make you think "Yes! That's what I want" A collection of fashion shots could help encourage you to stick to your diet and go the the gym or photographs of idyllic beaches and luxury hotels could help you save for that fabulous holiday.
You can collate your images in anyway you wish - just make sure it's somewhere you'll see them regularly. A mood-board or collage for your notice board, several images for your planner or diary, your favourite image in a frame next to your bed - or of course, one of the best inspirational sources ever (IMHO!) Pinterest!
