Well - October isn't over and we've already had our first snow here. I'm not a fan of winter and I hate being cold, but I live in England - the North of England - so keeping warm is fast becoming something of an obsession.
One of the perks of working from home is that you can wear almost anything you like - and I like warm and cosy. I'm always on the hunt for clothes that are as comfortable as pyjamas or pyjamas that look like proper clothes (just in case someone pops round or I have to answer the door)
This week I've found some perfect trousers and tops from George at Asda. They are a dream to wear, mix and match well and start at only £10.
Here are my favourite items from the range - I'll be ordering more before long!
If you're feeling the need to stay in and get cosy here are some ten pound treats for you and your home. All handmade by independent makers here in the UK. Just click on the photos to visit their Etsy stores.
And since staying in with a good book is one of the best ways to spend a cold, dark night, why not read all about hygge - Winter is on its way so let's embrace it.
Is this how you feel today? Some Mondays I wake up and think "right - let's get to grips with this week!" Today was definitely not one of those Mondays - a rubbish weekend, injured dog, damaged car, abandoned plans - and just don't ask about the diet.
Sometimes the opportunity to put last week behind you and start afresh just isn't enough. What do you turn to when your motivation seems to have upped and left? I like a visual reminder. Looking at a photo of the outfit I'm going to treat myself to when I shift that half stone helps me get back on my healthy eating plan or just seeing the words "day off" in my diary motivates me to get all my chores completed on time.
If you've woken up with that Monday feeling today here are some fun things you could treat yourself to and give yourself a boost. The fact that they are all handmade and under ten pounds should help cheer you up too!
A Happy October to you! Maybe you don't throw a party at the start of a new month but I think changing the page of the calendar deserves more than a little recognition.
A new month is a fresh start and a promise of things to come. Take a moment to enjoy the subtle changes October will bring - Autumn leaves, hearty food, sitting by the fire.....
Take a moment to plan some seasonal treats, maybe write an October bucket list and appreciate the days from today to Trick or Treat.
