It's starting to get busy ~ it's going to get busier. Christmas is getting closer and there's still so much to do. Why not have a little calm before the storm and have a couple of hours doing as little as possible today. Put your feet up in front of the TV and indulge in a festive film.
In my opinion, you can't find a better way of escaping and relaxing than reading. It doesn't matter what book you choose ~ something from your favourite author or something new ~ just enjoy.
If you need some inspiration, here are some of my recent favourites ~ in no particular order, no particular genre ~ just a selection of books that I've really enjoyed and hope you will too.
It's easy to get overwhelmed at this time of year, there's lots to do and you may not be looking forward to everything that the next three weeks will throw your way. On the other hand there will be things that you know you are going to enjoy and today's task is simply to list three of them. It's your list so anything can go on it ~ a carol concert, a coffee with a friend, a new book to read.... Just write your list and keep it somewhere close so that when you start getting stressed about how much shopping you have to do or getting ready for the family to descend, you'll have an instant reminder that there's always something to enjoy!
As most crafters already know, making something can be a great way to relax. Crafting is absorbing, keeping your hands and your mind busy and the finished articles can give you a great sense of achievement and pride.
So why not put aside a little time to make something beautiful and unique this festive season. Handmade Christmas decorations are a great choice, they are relatively quick to make and they will give you pleasure for years to come.
