Every year many of us moan about Christmas being far too commercial. Well, why not put your money where your mouth is, as they say, and join me in this thirty day challenge to make the festive season as handmade as possible.
Each day in November I'll be posting ideas for Christmas decorations, food and gifts. They'll all be handmade - many of them could be handmade by you! Crafting and creating is a great stress reliever and we all know that this time of year can see us the least likely to show "goodwill to all men"!
Today I'm featuring a selection of craft projects for making your own Christmas tree decorations. Some are patterns and some are kits - they are all beautiful. Many of the patterns are instant downloads so you can get crafting tonight! What better way to spend a cold November evening than making some gorgeous ornaments that are sure to become family heirlooms. Just click on the photos to visit these beautiful Etsy shops.
If, like me, you love a vintage craft book, this is a great series to collect. American Country Christmas features crafts, decorating and festive food - they are packed with inspiration. I've bought 1990 and 1991 so far - I think I'll be searching for the full set! The angels from the 1990 issue are gorgeous!
And if you're partial to a bit of Christmas kitsch, then look no further than this fabulous book of felt ornament patterns!
