For many years I thought I didn't like Christmas pudding - turns out I just don't want it after a huge Christmas dinner. Although we still have it on the 25th (with the full drama of flaming brandy for that festive sense of danger!) I tend to opt for trifle and save my portion for a post Boxing Day Walk treat - it's delicious when you have the appetite for it.
No matter when you enjoy yours, the pudding is such an icon of Christmas and its pleasing shape lends itself to decorating all kinds of things. Have a browse at this lovely selection from UK crafters and designers.
If you want to make your own there are many, many recipes out there - from the traditional fruit version to the fabulous Sticky Toffee one. Just click on the photographs to get the recipes.
And when you just can't eat another spoonful - here's a fun game for all the family to play!
