Self Care Advent ~ Day 7 ~ Home Pedicure

If all that trudging around the shops searching for the perfect Christmas gift has been hard on your feet, why not indulge in a simple home pedicure today.

First gather all the items you will need;
  • nail polish remover and cotton wool
  • nail clippers and emery boards
  • foot soak
  • pumice or chiropody sponge
  • exfoliating foot scrub
  • foot cream
  • cotton socks

There are lots of foot care products on the market, but one of my favourite brands is Newtons - I've been using them for years  - they may not be the most glamorous but they work. The chiropody sponge is brilliant.
It's not always easy to find them in the high street  - some smaller chemists and body-care shops stock them but not always the full range - however you can now stock up on Amazon

Then find yourself a suitable spot and;
  • remove any old nail polish
  • clip and file your nails as necessary
  • soak your feet in warm water and foot soak
  • treat any rough skin with a pumice or chiropody sponge
  • exfoliate your feet with a foot scrub
  • rinse your feet thoroughly in warm water and dry
  • massage in a rich foot cream
  • pop on cotton socks - and relax
