If I told you I spent £10 on one bottle you'd probably be thinking perfume or a cheeky little Rioja. It's neither of those - it's oil. Not just any old oil though - it's pumpkin seed oil and it's worth every penny. I'm not claiming it's cheap but it is value for money. The one I buy is £9.95 from Scarlett and Mustard - check out their shop for lots of other foodie treats - Oh my word! Toffee Apple Curd! (and that's a poem too!)
Anyway... pumpkin seed oil has a fabulous nutty, earthy flavour and it is the most glorious green. A little goes a long way, it's so rich that you can mix it with a cheaper oil (preferably a flavourless one).
Brush lamb steaks with it before grilling or make a delicious veggie dish by oven roasting beetroot, red onions and peppers in a mix of pumpkin seed oil and groundnut oil, finish with a splash of red wine vinegar, chopped parsley and some toasted pumpkin seeds.
